Based on the same-titled book (that’s based on his own story) by popular Taiwanese writer Giddons Ko (九把刀), the Taiwanese production tells a story of a young man, Ko-Teng (Chen-Tung Ko), who has several close friends with a crush on a fellow student, Shen Chia-Yi (Michelle Chen).
Ko and his friends graduate from Ching Cheng’s junior high school straight into their senior high school division in pursuit of Shen; the story unfolds with this close-knit group of friends growing up together to witness their beloved Shen walking down the aisle to become someone else’s wife, and in the process of recognising their coming-of-age lessons, continue to pursue their own happiness in life.
The film has also been nominated for several Golden Horse Awards.
The film portrays out the lives and experiences of a bunch of friends, through the years of schooling and a little bit of adulthood. From masturbation, school's corporal punishments and love.
The title pretty much speaks for itself "那些年,我們一起追的女孩", All those years, the same girl we've chased.
I'm sure everyone has a bit of that, we've all liked the prettiest girl in the class before, ADMIT IT! Eventually, we never got to even speak to them perhaps, I've once sat beside my class's prettiest girl for 6months and that's probably the reason why I never did really well in school, I had erections pretty often.
那些年,我們一起追的女孩 brings in a very nostalgic feel to me, the days spent in school, the days where we were punished together as a group, having detentions, that was our typical secondary school life. Twist of love tails, each guy seems good in some ways, but, will they get the same girl they're chasing?

I particularly liked parts in the film where it showed guys having circle jerks(guys masturbating together, first to ejaculate = winner), I've did it a couple of times these few years with some of my secondary school friends, and man, I tell you, it was disgustingly fun.
The language used, the acts committed, the sexual escapades, I'll be more than winning to watch this film once again. The level of honesty showed in the film still gets me excited.
Do take note, the movie's rated NC16 in Singapore and will be out only from 4th November 2011.
Go catch it with your ex-schoolmates!
