There are free shuttle buses from Hougang MRT and Eunos MRT(take la, free leh).

I had a really great time there, Here's a simplified map of the place.



Lots of actual air crafts used by the Republic of Singapore Air Force being displayed, can pose ridiculous pictures you know?


Of course, DK......is my target.....


Air show schedule, 11am and 4:30pm, watch the metal birds and tanks in action and explosions!










Ah, of course.......no crowd because we were at the preview.


You get to see the weapons and magazines right in your face. a 20mm bullet.



Lots of booths and activities, very children-friendly.


I think the best part of my experience, A FREE RIDE ON A CHINOOK! It was really really loud and windy, we couldn't even hear each other on the bird.

At first I had a threesome on the Chinook.


and then came a foursome.



The view is just spectacular.


Viewing the city of Singapore from skies slowly from a helicopter is just a really.....great experience.




Anyways, a side note, if you're going to the RSAF Open House, please remember ....

• No telephoto cameras allowed(only below 500mm).
• No sharp objects(I think finger nails included).
• Tie up your hair, it'll get really windy.

National Day Parade 2011 Ticket balloting starts!

Every 9th of August, Singaporeans celebrate our day of independence, I've applied for 6tickets, I know the chances of getting it is low, but hey, big group = more fun!





This year(like any other year), there's 4 ways to ballot for tickets.

Website/SAM/AXS stations
Log on to the official NDP 2011 website at www.ndp.org.sg or visit any AXS and SAM stations. Alternatively, applicants can log on to the NDP website using Internet stations located at CitizenConnect Centres. The locations of SAM and AXS stations, as well as the various CitizenConnect.

Centres, can be found at www.singpost.com.sg, www.axs.com.sg and www.ecitizen.gov.sg respectively.

NDP 2011 Mobile Application (App)
Download the “NDPOnTheGo” Mobile App, available for free from the Apple App Store and Android Market.

Ticketing hotlines
Dial 1900-112-4551 to ballot for preview tickets on 30 Jul 2011, or 1900-112-4559 to ballot for actual day tickets on 9 Aug 2011.


Short Message Service (SMS)
Key in “NDP” and send it to 9395-2855 to start the application process.

While there is no limit to the number of applications that each applicant can submit, only his/her latest choice will be entered for the electronic ballot when the application period ends on 29 May 2011. As such, tickets are NOT allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

The balloting results are final and there will be no appeals. As each ticket admits one spectator to the parade, children (inclusive of infants) must hold a valid ticket to be admitted to the parade. Successful applicants will be contacted between 9 and 18 Jun 2011 via the contact numbers provided during their application process. They can collect their tickets from 17 to 26 Jun 2011, between 9am and 9pm daily, at The Float @ Marina Bay (20 Raffles Avenue, (S) 039805).

Anyways people, let's be fair, DO NOT SELL THE TICKETS, it's very annoying when people do that, it pisses me off, these tickets are FREE, DO NOT BUY AND PROFIT PEOPLE WHO FLOUT THE RULES.

I have been trying to get tickets for 10 over years, the last NDP I went was back in 1999.

But hey, no ticket, doesn't mean I can't catch the actions, usually every year, I'll be standing somewhere else, rain or shine.

To be frank, I used to hate gays, lesbians, especially transsexuals, but after awhile(few years), it seems alright, I've become more and more tolerant, and eventually, with more gay and lesbian friends, I realised, they're still one of us, still human, still the same socially.

I'll be down with a group of friends to support this cause, the freedom of love between LGBTs(Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transsexuals) , it doesn't matter to me anymore, whether you're gay, lesbian, or a tranny , you're still my friend.

Have a break, With Kit Kat

I couldn't really think of any ideas of how I wanna have a break, either the idea is too crude, too disgusting, or just simply put, inappropriate, so yeah, just me stuffing some Kit Kat in my mouth while taking a break with my webcam.

Illustrators, designers and artists! Fancy seeing your artwork ply the streets on a public bus? Simply create an original piece of art that is your interpretation of taking a break, and stand to win $1000 cash, as well as a chance for your design to be exhibited, produced and distributed
island-wide – including a bus-wrap showcase!

Your piece can be an illustration, a photographic collage, a typography design or anything you can imagine, as long as it is two-dimensional and features a significant amount of KIT KAT ® red.

Flex your creative muscles as individuals or teams of 3 or less!

KEY GUIDELINES:

1) Original artwork should be done in at least A3 size, 300dpi, and must feature a significant amount of KIT KAT ® red.

2) Submissions must be made in pdf format no larger than 2MB in size
(low-res preview)
Submissions must include:
(i) Artwork
(ii) Minimum 30 word description of how the artwork represents ‘taking a break’

Anyways, Dr Vincent Wijeysingha, I don't give a damn if you're gay, I really don't.

Gourmet Food Trail with Ah Lun (阿伦笑吃人间 周末趴趴吃) at Rendezvous Hotel and Ah Yat Restaurant

Together with omy.sg and Lianhe Wanbao, a special collaboration was held together with food critic Ah Lun(黄卓伦), I had a chance to savour some good foods from 2 different famous restaurants in Singapore.

Of course, our guest, all 80+ of them, were mostly people off my age group, but still fun to chat with them!



Actually, the chinese names of these dishes are much more fascinating and describes all the ingredients used, unfortunately for me, I have a very bad range of chinese vocabulary, so what I'll do is, simplify and translate everything literally to english as much as I can.

First up,

Open 7 days and nights a week for breakfast, lunch & dinner 7:00am to 11:00 pm (daily).



Starter, Chicken Soup


Filled with chinese herbs and spices, a light starter.


Chrysanthemum cod fish. Light chrysanthemum soup with herbs along with cod fish that melts in your mouth.


Seems like it's from a really huge cod.


Closed up shot. The cod's natural high level of fat flesh makes it so smooth and tasty.


Chicken with marmite and mango roll.


Being the youngest in the entire group, that emcee.......aiyoo...


Ok la, at least gotten some freebies from participating!



Anyways, Next up! Fermented red rice wine pork ribs. (I think the chinese name of this dish makes more sense)


and this is my favorite, Laksa, I heard from the others that this hotel is best known for it's Laksa.


Everyone seated around me didn't dared to eat chilli, so they gave/I took their chilli paste!

The chilli paste tasted so good that I couldn't resist myself to have 3 of it!


The sweet, smooth sambal chilli paste, THIS IS A MUST-TRY THERE, note, the only downside is that, their Laksa, no cockles leh.....

Next, Almond Tofu dessert, ah, just nice I used this to cool off from the generous amount of chilli I had.


and finally, Durain cake, another specialty of Rendezvous hotel.

Next stop, Ah Yat Seafood Restaurant at Turf City


Everybody settling in the banquet hall.


Ah Lun entertaining us, actually, which one is Ah Lun? =P


First up, the "MM Lee dish", according to many, MM Lee had once came here to consume this, Steamed Groupa fish with many many things(Yes, it makes more sense if typed in chinese, IF only I typed in chinese, which I can't.)


According to the chef, the groupa used must be of at least 1kg in weight, in order for it to taste good and textured to this. Oh yes, did anyone notice how the skin isn't sticking onto the chopstick?!

One tip for all of you, if given a chance, you should try fish's cheeks, actually, any fish, try it's cheek, it's the best and most delicious part of any fish.



And erm....the waitress was initiative enough to put the rest of the fish next to me, ha!


Next!! Duck with fried yam cake.


Closed up shot, man....it's been awhile since I've had such good food in a long time, ducks and yam really do blend well together.


Next, Wonton Skin Soup.




This is actually the first time I'm trying Wonton skin with soup, it tasted really good, somewhat like Horfun, but, just different.

According to the chef, the Wonton skin is first fried quickly, and then rinsed with water to clear the excess oil, and simply served with clear chicken soup, he even demonstrated to us all live.


Everybody loved it and gave positive comments! Lots of us trying for the first time.


Next, Prawn with "Golden coin pork"
This is truly for unhealthy food lovers, it's a large piece of pig liver, stacked with a thick layer of pig fat, and stacked again with another piece of pork, I couldn't get what the chef said because he was speaking in cantonese, it felt really unique, and extremely delicious, I wish someone would make this into a new burger chain!


Sinfully delicious.


Mint, cannot get enough of it ah?


The final dish of the day, and yes, the best for last, This isn't available on the menu, the chef specially made this for us.(Actually I'm pretty sure he made it for MM Lee as well)

this is, "Kueh Lapis"


It's a sandwich made of rice cake layers, custard and coconut flesh in every single layer, with salted egg yolks on top.


The satisfaction level..........


....was better than mastur.....erm , Can't say that word here.
