Lately I've been busy doing some recordings with some of my closest music buddies, I know there's not much "market" for music in Singapore, but hey, that doesn't mean we can't sing.
Just how many 18year olds do you know that can actually speak and moreover SING a song of a native and dying language of Singapore.
Yi Kai - 不能讲的秘密(Secret that cannot be told.)
Mint Leong and Desmong Wong.
寂寞寂寞就好(Direct translation : Lonely lonely then ok)
Fenny Hwang Singing 傻瓜(Direct translation: Dumbass)
Oh yes, another older recording of her singing a Kpop song by 2NE1, Lonely, was also featured over at a korean website.

Any musicians interested in doing recordings, feel free to email me, and I'll see what I can do to help.
Previously, a nice girl named Yulia emailed me, and this is what I did for her 2 years ago, Surprisingly it's gotten over 5000hits so far, very rare for typical local videos to even hit 500.

Genting Highlands - Cheap getaway from Singapore Part 1
Between the 3rd of July and 7th July 2011 I organised an overseas trip with a group of my ITE Classmates, and man, it was rather fruitful and awesome.
2 of them haven't been there before, despite the fact that Genting Highlands is pretty near and a pretty cheap getaway from Singapore.

A little brief explanation and guide if you're traveling there.
Genting Highlands is located a 45minutes drive from the capital of Malaysia, Kualar Lumpur, approxiamtely 6-9hours drive from Singapore to Genting Highlands(direct), depending on traffic and the bus companies.
Geographically, 1800metres above sea level, a cool tropical getaway temperature of 15 to 25degrees Celcius thru-out the day, and it can get as cold as 10degrees Celsius in the late night, You can do without a jacket/sweater though.
Transport from Singapore
Bus: Sri Maju, I've always preferred this bus company, reasons are simple, they drive fast, and have the best prices I've seen so far, head down to their outlet and remember to BARGAIN for even better bus ticket prices!
Tip: Choose the night buses to avoid crowds at the customs, this way you can sleep on the bus, and arrive at Genting Highlands in the morning to enjoy the sunrise and a cup of tea before you check-in the hotel.
Tip 2: Don't buy return tickets till you've reached Genting Highlands, which it's bus terminal is called First World Bus Terminal, It's almost half the price if you do it this way.
Our bus ticket costs
One-way Sri Maju bus to Genting highlands : s$30
Return from CITIEXCHANGE back to Singapore: RM30(s$12)
We took the night bus, to also maximize our time enjoyed overseas. 11:30pm

Bus pit stop : Yong Peng
Usually(or rather all), buses will stop at Yong Peng, approximately 90minutes drive from Singapore, for a 20minutes break, Over there TRY NOT TO buy too much stuff, especially snacks, reasons are simple, the prices are all same/higher than Singapore.
To enjoy real Malaysian prices, you've gotta avoid the tourism places.
Some chewing/bubble gums, drinks, cigarettes and a pack of chips will do.

We've managed to reach in the wee hours, 5:32am, all shagged and hungry. Oh wait, remember I mentioned "sleep in the bus"? Let me take that away....a bunch of teenagers WILL NOT SLEEP ON THE BUS, HA, We pretty much partied the whole night in the bus.
I have no idea why I look so ugly....

Of course, Genting Highlands has some 24hour food outlets, We had breakfast at MarryBrown(A malaysian version of KFC), They serve some pretty good breakfast, some things you never expect out of a fast food outlet.
Ayam Nasi Padang(Mixed chicken rice set)

Chicken rice set(Fried)

Laksa

And of course, not forgetting the typical western breakfast....

Like what I said, if you take the night bus, you'll get to enjoy breakfast before the sunrises.
This is Firdaus.

We actually took a dump together in one of the highest public restrooms before taking this picture, oh, notice something? I FORGOT TO ZIP UP AND BUCKLE UP MY PANTS, HA.

Another angle, this time without my unbuckled belt and unzipped pants. Look at how beautiful the sunrise is in the clouds.

Accommodation
If you're not a member of Resorts World, I'd suggest just 2 hotels.(RIA Apartments is out of the question, majority of it's rooms are leased out to staff, reviews are bad despite the cheap prices, and there had been too many cases of theft/break-ins)
First World Hotel(at most 2 pax, small rooms)
off-peak prices at just RM48+, includes free breakfast buffet for 2.(Sometimes it gets as cheap as RM15 for super-advance bookings)
Theme Park Hotel(2pax superior rooms, able to accommodate up to 6pax)
off-peak prices at just RM88, with free breakfast buffet for 2.
Suitable for big groups(like mine) to make full use off and save on travel cost, we stayed for 3nights, and each of us paid only like s$10 daily!
Remember to ask for renovated rooms facing KL(Kuala Lumpur)!
Tip: Do make bookings at least a month or two ahead, and to save even more, book everything for off-peak days, this way you can save on hotel and transportation rates, and you also get to avoid the crowds!(MORE FUN! Sometimes, you can even head into an empty theme park!)
Obviously, we chose the Theme Park Hotel, I've requested a renovated room facing KL, this way we won't get disturbed by the theme park's noises.
We booked 2 rooms, so that's RM88 x 2 for 3nights, basically a girl's room and a guy's room.
(We had 3girls, 5guys)
The reason why I chose this hotel is because I know from online reviews that they stacked 2 queen sized beds together, this way, you can just shift the furnitures around, and enable at least 5 people to sleep comfortably. If you'll like to save even more, you can squeeze up to 10people, and yet still have walking spaces.
The guy's room's arrangement was, 4 to sleep on bed, and Dennis took the sofa.
Tip : Call up and see if there is any chances of checking-in before the given time(usually 2pm), we managed to check in at like 10am if I remembered

One more reason to choose Theme Park Hotel, it has it's own garden right in front of it, facing KL.

The spectacular view down from the garden.

A straight-view, kinda straight.

After a quick walk around, exploring our hotel's areas, we unpacked and brushed our teeth, of course, we boys will be boys, this is our room. We have our own logistic system, no need for keeping things neat and tidy.

Theme Park
Genting highlands have 2 theme parks,
Indoor: mainly children's ride, nothing much for adults except for bumper cars.
Outdoor : mainly for adults, from roller coasters to go karts.
I'm not bringing any kids, so the indoor tickets and dual park tickets are out of the question.
Advance theme park tickets booking would cost you just RM30 for outdoor tickets, door sale at RM45.
Tip:Visit the outdoor theme park when it opens, 10am if I'm not wrong, this way, you can be the only ones there!
The climate is very unpredictable, because we're in the clouds, sunlight is blocked occasionally, and note, I was at the theme park in the morning, and it was literally a ghost town! NO OTHER PATRONS BUT US!

We pretty much had a go at EVERYTHING, we didn't had to queue, and we had the options to request for another go at the same rides!

After that, some of us, including me, got too tired to continue, the fact that we've not slept for almost 2 days, and with the cool climate, our bodies couldn't take it anymore, we had to take a nap.

I was even able to sleep with a smile, none of the rooms have any air conditioning, the natural wind and cold breeze was more than enough to allow us to comfortably snuggle in our beds.

Before our first night ends, we had a good KFC feast, it's signature local special, Chicken Rice set, along with cheesy wedges.

it comes with a hot soup with meatballs, pretty good for a cold night at Genting highlands.

Oh yes, the wedges were effing delicious!

The rest.

Enjoying a nice meal before another long nap!
