Prevent Holiday disasters: 34 Singaporeans involved in bus crash in Sabah
I first saw the news on Omy.sg
Chinese version from Omy.sg.

With some light research, I was able to conclude that the Genting Highlands crashed bus, belonged to Star Mart Express. I recall ticket offers from Singapore to Genting Highlands at only s$25 from Star Mart Express.

I have no idea if they forgotten the internet bills, or they found out that people were able to identify that it was their bus that crashed, maybe they shut down their website to protect their brand. But come on, this is the internet age, anything can be Google'd.
A quick look into their unprotected whois of www.greatnfamous.com reveals another company name, so is it Blue Waters Borneo or Great N Famous that was operating the tour?
Blue Waters Borneo's company address in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

A follow up check on Sabah Tourism Board's land-operator lists, reveals that both Great N Famous and Blue Waters Borneo, have the same addresses, shady huh?

Tips and guides on choosing a good tour operator.
There I was, with my friendly and experienced bus driver, Mr Zul, at the airport.

And I was also given the experience of riding in a bigger tourist bus around the island of Sabah. What kept my trip worry-free and enjoyable was knowing and seeing that the buses were well maintained, clean and most importantly, driven by safe experienced captains.

So next time you travel, remember, it's it's too cheap, it's too good to be safe. Good, trusted and reliable companies will never cheapen themselves and jeopardize the safety of tourists like you and me.
English version from the New Sabah Times.
4th June, 2012 PENAMPANG: A 40-seater tour coach rammed into another tour bus (31-seater) before crashing into a culvert and landing on its side along the Tambunan – Penampang Road, at 4.47pm yesterday. Three of the 34 Singaporean tourists on board the coach sustained minor injuries and were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) for treatment and have been discharged. However, the other tourists numbering 20 or so on board the 30-seater bus escaped unharmed. According to Great and Famous Tours and Travel Sdn Bhd, which is involved in the ground handling of the tour, the group of tourists was returning from their two-day religious retreat in Tambunan. “I was made to understand the cause of the accident was brake failure,” said Jeremiah Dorsey, the Public Relations Officer of the company. He also clarified that the two coaches involved were not theirs but were hired from two tour operators. He thanked the police personnel, the medical team and the civil defence for their professionalism and efficiency in attending to the victims.I recall another similar incident that happened along the hills on Genting Highlands in Peninsular Malaysia.(Via New Straits Times)

Tips and guides on choosing a good tour operator.
- Reasonable rates, if it's too cheap, something's definitely wrong, they probably cut corners on high maintenance needs of vehicles, resulting in potential dangers for tourists, which in this latest crash, involved brake failure.
- Detailed web with proper information, pictures and reviews from actual clients from dependable sources such as TripAdvisor.

Casual Fine-dining in the heartlands - Double Spout Cafe
Located at the busiest vicinity of Kovan, Double Spout Cafe offers cross-cultural fusions cuisines, ranging from Malay, Chinese and Western to diners, together with an unique experience of fine-dining, in a casual manner, no need for suit and ties.
My friends and I, just like any other saturdays, would scout around looking for prominent places to dine and catch up with each other. As we strolled around Kovan, this particular cafe/restaurant caught our attention, and we decided to give it a shot.

The magazine-like menus fill with attractive choices, took us a while to decide on what to eat.

I had a Swiss-German Wurst set.

Alfred's Fish and Chips, very huge piece of fish.

Sixu's Chicken Curry Spaghetti.

And we shared a Munchy Combo among ourselves.

The bill came to a rough average of s$17 for the three of us each, for quality food, service and unique fusion cuisine tastes, I felt that it was very affordable and attractive.
The generous portions did fill my stomach(pretty rare), I was very satisfied, with so many other selections to choose from, I will definitely dine here again with some friends.

The friendly boss of Double Spout, According to him, on the 5th of June 2012, it will also be their first anniversary of operation in Kovan Heartland Mall, they will also be doing a slight revamp on the menu, introducing some new spicy dishes.

Your blogspot/blogger is now a Top-level domain URL
I just realised that right now, my blog domain no longer displays as .com, but a .sg top level-domain, because Google(which owns blogspot) knows I'm from Singapore.

Currently, www.blogspot.sg isn't working yet, you will only be able to access your dashboard through www.blogger.com or www.blogspot.com .
Once again, time to thank the almight Google inc for this cool feature, so next time you print your Blogger name card, remember to put in a .sg instead of .com for a more localised look!
Having a .sg or any other top-level domains for your blogspot blogs, means that your audiences have expanded into countries like China, which has banned blogspot.com for years.
Viva la revolution!

I'm growing older.....
Few weeks ago, I finally graduated from the Institute of Technical Education, or ITE. While I await for my National Service enlistment in July, I've been working as an intern since december with two different companies over this period.
(And oh, see my hands, no hover one hor, Photo by: Firdaus.)
It has also come to a point in time and space, where the universe starts defying me, I no longer find any facial wash, conditions in the showers that I can use, that just means I gotta buy them myself now.....And this bottle alone cost $9, ARGH.
But then again, even though my wages as an intern is low, I see things in a different light now.
Just two years ago, if I came across this sofa-bed, I wouldn't had even thought of buying it, but now!
EH, I CAN ACTUALLY BUY THIS BED FOR MYSELF?! WOW.
I EVEN EYED AT THIS KITCHEN CABINET, I COULD HAD JUST BOUGHT IT STRAIGHT AWAY!
I even paid for groceries!
I can even afford to have better meals occasionally now!
